Caution with pictures

This article is about getting properly permissioned pictures that fit the Toastmaster’s brand. To quote the Toastmasters Branding Manual “Please do not use cartoons, illustrations, or clip art in materials created for Clubs, Areas, Divisions, Districts, and Regions. Always make sure you have permission to use and/or reproduce any images and pictures utilized in your designs. Images protected by trademarks and copyrights should never be used.”

Toastmasters, and the internet, have many royalty free image sources that you can use to get properly permissioned pictures for your website, newsletter, flyer, brochure or public advertising.

Toastmaster resources – TI HQ has a gallery of pictures you can use for your publications. They are located at this site. Feel free to use those for any publication for Toastmasters business.

Royalty free sources on the internet. Some that your webmaster uses are:

Pexels.com – they advertise themselves as “The best free stock photos & videos shared by talented creators.” You can download images, and videos, or upload to share your material.

Freeimages.com – where they say “Find free stock images, ready for your projects.” Again, you can download to utilize or upload your images to share.

Those are a few sources. Again, you can use your own images but caution on permissions. If you don’t have the subject’s permission to use their image in your publications that could be an issue. Toastmasters does have a release form if you do wish to protect yourself – it is at this link.
